What are Mailing Lists?

• Mailing List - a mailing address that sends mail to a list of subscribers to a topic-specific discussion

• LISTSERV - computer that controls the mailing list (ex. LISTSERV@LISTSERV.webster.m-w.com)

• To subscribe to a mailing list, send an e-mail to the LISTSERV by typing “Subscribe”, the name of the mailing list, and your full name (not the e-mail address) on the subject line

(ex. Subscribe DAILY-BUZZWORD John Doe)
